Abstract

Artificial intelligence, as an innovative technology, has significantly changed the way many organizational tasks are performed, and especially in recruiting and selecting people, it has made processes faster, more accurate, and more transparent. This technology has not only increased efficiency but also created a new opportunity to improve the quality of decision-making and improve the applicant experience.
This research examines the perceptions of human resource managers about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the recruitment process and tries to determine whether this technology acts as a great opportunity for organizations or brings challenges, and also what are the thinking patterns of managers towards them. The present research is a qualitative research conducted using the Q method. Qualitative data is derived from a study of previous literature and semi-structured interviews with 20 managers, vice presidents, and experts in the field of human resource management. The research findings show that there are opportunities and challenges in using artificial intelligence in the recruitment process. In this regard, 5 mental models of managers were identified in this regard, including supportive managers, concerned managers, disruptive managers, cautious managers, and balance seekers. This research aims to show the opportunities, challenges, and perceptions of managers regarding the use of artificial intelligence in the recruitment process and its conclusions, which can help managers make more informed decisions. Ultimately, this study helps organizations to adopt more appropriate approaches to integrating artificial intelligence into their recruitment processes by more accurately recognizing the existing opportunities and challenges.
