Metasynthesis of explanatory variables of humanity, structural and environmental factors related to starting and sustaining businesses in the field of food industries

Abstract

Startup businesses are recognized as one of the strategic sectors in the global economy, given the increase in population and changes in consumption patterns. In this context, launching startup businesses is of great importance due to its profound effects on the economy and society. The aim of the present study is to present a framework and dimensions explaining the startup and startup stages of businesses in the Iranian food industry. The statistical population included articles, theses, conference papers, and books, and in order to systematically search for published sources in databases based on relevant keywords, five English-language databases and five Persian-language databases were used. The techniques used were meta-combination and fuzzy Delphi. The seven-step Sandelowski and Barso method was used to perform meta-combination. Based on the research findings, the variables explaining businesses in three categories of human characteristics and the founder, including psychological factors, demographic factors, and acquired skills of the founder; The category of business structural characteristics includes team building, business financing, business idea generation process, customers, access to industry and market; and the category of environmental factors affecting business startups includes the role of the government in facilitating business startups, educational centers and business support organizations, cultural environment, the existence of necessary infrastructure in the environment, and 63 open codes. Finally, it is recommended that in order to succeed in starting food industry businesses, it is necessary to pay attention to these three main factors and related sub-variables.
