Abstract

The purpose of the research was to investigate the role of coaching management in the transfer of training with the mediation of self-directed learning in the training courses of employees of Tehran Broadcasting Organization. The research was a descriptive-correlational study with a structural equation modeling approach. The statistical population of the research consisted of 1173 participants in the technical training courses of the Broadcasting Organization in 2020 and 2021. The sample size was determined to be 287 using the Krejcie and Morgan table and selected by a simple random method. The data collection tool was McLean et al.'s Coaching Management Questionnaire (2005), Brinia & Efstathiou's Training Transfer Questionnaire (2012), and Cheng et al.'s self-directed learning questionnaire (2010) with good validity and reliability. Data analysis was done using mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation matrix and structural equation modeling. The findings showed; coaching management has a positive and significant effect of 0.526 on self-directed learning. Coaching management with a path coefficient (0.346) and self-directed learning with a path coefficient (0.247) have a positive and significant effect on the transfer of training with a confidence level of 99%. Also, the effect of coaching management on the transfer of training with the mediation of self-directed learning with a path coefficient (0.130) at the 99% confidence level is positive and significant (P<0.01
